What is the Melvor Idle 2 Alpha?
The Alpha is the in-development testing build that funds and steers development. Since late 2025 it has been available to the official Patreon community — not from the store page. It currently contains around 25 skills, including the live Astrology and the Combat Mastery Guild.

The developers' own advice
Even with all the content now in the Alpha, the September update says: "for most people we'd highly recommend waiting until we release a public version." The public version process is exactly what the Next Fest demo is for — and the Early Access launch follows for everyone.

Per the official FAQ: the Patreon Alpha runs on Windows, macOS and Linux, via Steam or as a standalone client.
Is there a beta?
Not a separate public beta. Historically the "Offline Client public beta" (2024–2025) tested the standalone client; today's public path is the demo, and full public play arrives with Early Access. Alpha saves are not wiped — the no-wipe policy covers every save type.
