The Combat Update (June 2026)

The June 2026 dev update described the biggest Alpha update so far — a single package that added the entire Combat system. Officially confirmed contents of that update (an Alpha snapshot, not the final game totals):

ContentCount
New skills (8 combat, 4 non-combat)12
New items731
New monsters135
New Magic spells40
New Prayers34
New Pets12

The developers also stated they want to move away from the original's "one weapon is best" meta: weapon choices matter more and can alter the outcome of a fight.

Latest Alpha versions (public)

Since the Combat Update, the public Alpha line has moved through v0.10.0-alpha (Aug 11) to v0.10.4-alpha (Sep 2, 2026). The public index lists versions and dates only — what each version changed is posted to the Patreon community. See Updates for the full line.

Combat skills, prayers & spells

The Combat Update's 8 combat skills, 40 Magic spells and 34 Prayers are confirmed as part of that Alpha snapshot. Per-skill details, spell effects and prayer bonuses are not published. In-game, the Codex is planned as the authoritative reference for mechanics and item uses.

Mastery Guilds & combat

Mastery Guilds extend to Combat. They are the task-based replacement for the original per-item Mastery system. The planned Combat Mastery Guilds are covered on the Mastery Guilds page.

What is not published yet

Monster stats, dungeon layouts, boss mechanics, drop rates and combat set-ups are not officially published for Melvor Idle 2. We do not inherit those details from Melvor Idle 1, and we do not guess.

Weapon tier lists, best-build and fastest-XP recommendations are intentionally not published while Alpha balance is still changing.
